Breast reduction surgery is sought by many women in our practice to relieve the physical restrictions and painful strain on the neck, shoulders and back caused by excessively heavy breasts.  The strain can be so severe that it leads to chronic headaches, back and neck deformities, shoulder indentations, breathing problems, skin irritation and a variety of other medical problems.

Breast reduction surgery, technically called mammoplasty, is usually performed for physical relief rather than for cosmetic reasons.  The procedure involves the removal of excess breast tissue to reshape and lift the breasts.  The results are smaller, lighter, better-shaped breasts that are in better proportion with the rest of the body.  Breast reduction patients are among our happiest patients, literally having the weight lifted off of their chests, shoulders and back.

In 2001, Dr. Walker began using the Vertical Pedicle technique of breast reduction (changing from the inferior pedicle technique that he used for more than 17 years).  Like the previous technique, this newer procedure is designed to protect the blood and nerve supply to the nipple-areola area.  The added advantage is that the Vertical Pedicle reduction leaves a lollipop shaped scar which is less scarring than the former procedure.  It also creates a more conical and projecting breast without drains.

LESS SCAR * BETTER SHAPE * NO DRAINS
The choice of operation is obvious.

Because of the functional problems associated with extremely large breasts, your insurance will often cover the cost of this surgery.  For more detailed information about how this procedure may help you, we recommend that you call our office to schedule a consultation with Dr. Walker.

Before and After Gallery

"I thank you for removing my cancer and making me beautiful again! I am feeling great and my breasts are looking just as beautiful as the day you did your magic. I am so very grateful! I am writing to thank you again from the depths of my heart for helping another woman, who came to me when diagnosed with cancer and when we were trying to walk her through her emotions, options and physicians, you immediately came to mind. Not only did you save my sister and I, I am always talking you up and recommending your practice. There is no one that I trust more. Your generous spirit and special gifts are so appreciated. God bless you always. I lift you in prayer every day of my life. Take care and have a glorious day."

"You are very caring and compassionate with your patients and we wanted you to know how grateful we are to have a fine physician as you are here in Lourdes."

"Your concern was sincere and your bedside manner was extraordinary. You are everything a doctor should be and more."
